COURSE OBJECTIVES


To enable participants to utilise the features of Microsoft Excel and to use the basic techniques to create Spreadsheets, Databases, Charts and Presentations within the Windows environment.


COURSE CONTENT

The course content is as follows:

~ Understand the underlying concepts & terminology of Spreadsheets.
~ Under, create & edit workbooks for data management.
~ Enter, erase, edit & format values to display as Date, Time, currency, Percentage & Fractions.
~ Use Mathematical formulae and functions within a Spreadsheet.
~ Save, name, retrieve, spell check, print & preview Spreadsheets.
~ Enhance the presentation of Spreadsheets with Fonts, Borders, Shading, Alignment etc..
~ Understand & utilise relative / absolute cell referencing.
~ Implement Range Names.
~ Use Worksheet functions to perform simple data analysis.
~ Create, format & print charts from Spreadsheet data.
~ Understand & customise the different types of graphs available with Legends, Gridlines, Text, Arrows, Titles, Headings, Font, Colours & Patterns.
~ Understand the terminology, concepts & creation of a Database.
~ Sort, Search for and locate specific information in a Database.
~ The use of multiple sheets to link formula and transfer information.
~ Locate Excel files using the Find File feature.
~ Access & utilise the Help Menu to locate context sensitive help on desired topics.
~ Access & utilise Microsoft Excel 2000 Toolbars.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

This course gives users an in-depth knowledge of the more sophisticated aspects of Microsoft Excel. It allows "hands-on" practical activities using the powerful advanced spreadsheet features to solve business problems.

COURSE CONTENT

The course content is as follows:

~ Reinforce & enhance existing graphic techniques.
~ Reinforce & enhance existing database techniques.
~ Summarise and analyse data with the Pivot Table feature.
~ Create Outlines to view up to 8 levels of information on a workbook.
~ Save multiple print areas and settings with the View Manager.
~ Using Worksheet to perform decision-making, action-taking, error checking and value-returning operations automatically
~ Save different sets of input values that produce varying results with the scenario manager.
~ Print multiple view and scenarios with the Print Report feature.
~ Utilise what if Tables, Goalseek and Solver for data analysis.
~ Customise the standard and create personalised toolbars.
~ Automate workbook production with the Template feature.
~ Consolidate data from one or more source areas for summary analysis.
~ Transfer and link data between Excel and other windows applications.
~ Create and monitor links between Excel Workbooks.
~ Troubleshoot and annotate worksheet errors using the Auditing and Cell Note features.
~ Understand the concept, creation and implementation of macros to perform repetitive tasks.
